Katalogy publikací v knihovně ČGS zahrnují informace o knihovním fondu. Přírůstky v letech 1919–1991 postihují lístkové katalogy, od roku 1992 on-line katalog. Informační gesce knihovny ČGS je regionální geologie krystalinika, regionální geologie sedimentárních formací, aplikovaná geologie, geologie ložisek nerostných surovin, geochemie životního prostředí, ochrana životního prostředí, odpadové hospodářství, historie hornictví, GIS a databáze.

Mapový fond ČGS zahrnuje rukopisné materiály, jako meziprodukty výzkumných úkolů, staré důlní mapy a terénní mapové podklady pokrývající český region. Mapový fond tvoří i obsáhlá kolekce především tištěných map s geologickou tematikou ČR a celého světa, v určitých případech i s doplňujícím přílohovým materiálem.
