Geophysical surveys

This database contains information on geophysical measurements made mainly by Geofyzika state enterprise, Brno and its successor organizations since the early 1950s. Areas covered by regional surveys are depicted on 1 : 200.000 scale maps and local small-scale measurements at scale of 1 : 50.000.

Data Quality

Since 1972, Geofyzika state enterprise, Brno has maintained a state-funded inventory of geophysical surveys, which included records of all geophysical surveys carried out by Geofyzika and by the geophysical departments of almost all other Czech institutions and universities. With the introduction of the Automated System of Geological Information (ASGI), annotations of survey and scientific reports were converted into standardized records and forwarded to CGS-Geofond. The areas where surveys had been conducted were entered on maps, which were digitized in 1994. All geophysical databases, including the Geophysical Surveys Database, were then integrated into the CGS-Geofond Information System.
