The 3D geological model of Sidama Zone presents a unified visualization of rock bodies and fragile structures of this part of southern Ethiopia, based on the processing of all available relevant archival data from the modeled area. The model serves as a source of spatial geoscientific data for subsequent AI estimates of the depth and yield of groundwater resources and as a general visualization of the results of extensive field and laboratory research carried out in this area.
This is part of the solution to the Czech Development Agency's project, "Improving the quality of life by ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water resources in the Sidama Region and the Gamo and Gofa Zones of Ethiopia" (internal project number 682900).
The model summarizes results of our own research, compilation of geoscientific data and the subsequent construction of a 3D geological model of the Sidama Zone, carried out within the project “Improving the quality of life by ensuring availability and sustainable management of water resources in Sidama Region and Gamo and Gofa Zones (Ethiopia)” in the period 06/2022 - 01/2026.
